Or under wetsuits.  The 80% nylon fabric is well suited to beach conditions and dries readily.  Also quite useful for swims.  As a 73 year old with 20 pounds over my brief-wearing period 50 years ago, the square format works pretty nicely.   This one has a broad 1 1/4 inch waistband, including the flat drawcord.  Chlorine resistant fabric.

My item arrived very quickly. I didn't love the way it looked online but it was on sale so I purchased it. When it arrived I found it looked a lot better than I thought it looked online. It looks great on me too. I like my shorts to fit on the tight size so I usually order a size smaller but the next size down was sold out. Lucky me because the size I bought fits perfectly so most people may want to order a size up from their usual size I am 6 ft 1 in tall. 190 lbs my waist is 35 inches and my hips are 40 inches. I ordered a medium size.
