I just purchased the second vest (in a large) because our son has grown too big for the first one we bought.  In addition to the listing description about being intended for children learning to swim, it is a great vest for kids who know how to swim but want some buoyancy while just playing in the pool (under supervision, of course) and not have to constantly tread water or swim. Life jackets are bulky and not that much fun to “play” in, same with puddle jumpers and arm bands. This vest provides a good amount of buoancy for a child with some confidence in the water and full range of motion so they can play games in water they can’t stand in. It would be nice to have more color options that aren’t pink and purple (thankfully, our son likes orange).

This is product is the best thing for children learning to swim.  It keeps the natural buoyancy around the chest and keeps the arms free for full movement.  Arm floaties and pudding jumpers are awful if you are trying to allow the child to learn to actually swim and not all that safe.   This is not a put on your child and walk away as the name suggests, but not floating aid is meant for that.   My only complaint is that that are so hard to find now in the larger sizes or boy colors.  

This is a vest that allows a child to learn to swim by keeping the buoyancy around the lungs and allowing full arm motion.  As stated in the product name this is a swim vest.  It is not meant to put on a child and walk away, nor is any “floatation device” my only complaint is that I can find them in the boy colors or in the larger sizes anymore.  

I understand the jacket says is NOT a life saving device, and that is not an understatement. I purchased it for my grandson who is a big boy for his age, 2 birthday coming up in 3 months. I chose it because if the jacket size and do not remember seeing that it was for level 2 swimmer. He lost his balance yesterday and went face first in my pool. The jacket kept him afloat but his face was inside the water. He started kicking and moving his arms but his face was still in the water. No loop or harness in the back to pull him from. Very disappointed at the product for sure.

Super short, does not fit at all. Had to return. The return package was delivered over ten days ago and still haven't received my refund or any e-mail. :(
